Het vak kan worden gevolgd als 5 ec variant en als een 10 ec variant.
Studenten die alleen in de gelegenheid zijn om de 7 bijeenkomsten van het 1e blok te volgen krijgen 5 ec,
en zij die ook de 7 weken van het 2e blok volgen krijgen de 10 ec.
This course provides a study of text of the history of western philosophy, from Plato to our days. Only primary sources will be read and no handbooks or other secondary literature, since philosophy is best learnt by patiently studying and pondering over the Great Books, written by the important philosophers themselves. The course focuses on political philosophy and ethics. Metaphysical, epistemological and other issues can e.g. automatically arise in the reflection on and discussion of the books.
